Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ShortSave handles personal data when you use our mobile application, website, and support services.

1. Who is responsible for your data

ShortSave is operated by Osman Abliazizov, based in Ireland. For data-protection questions or requests, email shortsaveai@gmail.com.

2. Information we process

• Account data: a pseudonymous account identifier for guest use and, if you protect or sign in to your account, your email address, name where supplied by the sign-in provider, provider account identifier, and authentication information.
• Your library: saved URLs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, transcripts, summaries, notes, folders, tags, favourites, search queries, and preferences.
• Subscription data: trial, purchase, renewal, cancellation, entitlement, and subscription-expiry status. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
• Technical data: app version, operating system, device type, IP address in network logs, pseudonymous identifiers, product interactions, errors, crashes, and performance information.
• Notifications: push token, device platform, language, and delivery status if you enable push notifications.
• Support data: your name, email, message, and any information you choose to include when contacting us.

3. Why we process it

We use data to provide and secure ShortSave, maintain your library, retrieve video information, generate AI summaries and search results, manage subscriptions, deliver requested notifications, respond to support, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

4. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we process data as necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as security, reliability, fraud prevention, and product improvement. We rely on consent where the law requires it, including for optional permissions or processing, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. Service providers

We share only the information reasonably required for each provider to perform its service:

When you choose to save or import a link, regenerate AI content, or use AI-powered search, you ask ShortSave to send the relevant URL, available content text, or search query to the providers needed to perform that request. ShortSave does not use this content to train its own general-purpose AI model.

We do not intentionally send saved URLs, email addresses, notes, search text, transcripts, summaries, passwords, credentials, clipboard contents, or access tokens to PostHog or Sentry.

6. Advertising and sale of data

ShortSave does not currently display third-party advertising, sell personal data, or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising. Promoting ShortSave through social media or paid campaigns does not by itself give advertisers access to your ShortSave library. We will update this policy before adding advertising or attribution technology that changes these practices.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected through adequacy decisions, approved contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

8. Retention and account deletion

We keep your account and library while your account is active. When you delete your account, ShortSave removes the account, related active database records, and stored thumbnails without undue delay. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in disaster-recovery backups or provider systems until their normal retention cycle completes. Certain records may be retained where required for law, accounting, fraud prevention, security, or dispute resolution.

You can delete your account inside the app under Profile → Delete Account or use our web deletion page.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent and complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. 10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted network transport and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Age requirement

ShortSave is intended only for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

12. Changes and contact
